The EL2082 current-mode variable gain controlIC can be connected in a way to minimize circuitnoise. In the usual forward configuration, the circuithas an 80 nV/0Hz input noise which is constantwith respect to gain adjustment. The circuitto be shown has an effective input noise whichreduces as adjusted gain is increased. The circuitis useful in AGC or leveling functions where arelatively constant output amplitude is requiredfor a range of inputs.
