RT9245C  is  a  multi-phase  buck  DC/DC  controllerintegrated  with  all  control  functions  for  AMD  K8  CPU  orIntel®  GHz  CPU  which  is  VRD10.x-compliant.  TheRT9245C  could  be  operated  with  2,  3  or  4  buck  switchingstages  operating  in  interleaved  phase  set  automatically.The  multiphase  architecture  provides  high  output  currentwhile  maintaining  low  power  dissipation  on  power  devicesand  low  stress  on  input  and  output  capacitors.  The  highequivalent  operating  frequency  also  reduces  thecomponent  dimension  and  the  output  voltage  ripple  in  loadtransient.RT9245C  implements  both  voltage  and  current  loops  toachieve  good  regulation,  response  and  power  stagethermal  balance.RT9245C  applies  the  DCR  sensing  technology  newly.  TheRT9245C  extracts  the  DCR  of  output  inductor  as  sensecomponent  to  deliver  a  precise  load  line  regulation  andgood  thermal  balance  for  next  generation  processorapplication.Current  sense  setting,  droop  tuning,  VCORE  initial  offsetand  over  current  protection  are  independent  oncompensation  circuit  of  voltage  loop.  The  feature  greatlyfacilitates  the  flexibility  of  CPU  power  supply  design  andtuning.  The  DAC  output  of  RT9245C  supports  AMD  K85-bit  VID  and  Intel®  VRD10.x  with  6-bit  VID  input,  preciseoffset  value  &  smooth  VCORE  transient  at  VID  jump.  TheIC  monitors  the  VCORE  voltage  for  PGOOD  and  over-voltageprotection.  Soft-start,  over-current  protection  andprogrammable  under-voltage  lockout  are  also  provided  toassure  the  safety  of  microprocessor  and  power  system.The  RT9245C  comes  to  a  small  footprint  packageTSSOP-28.
