Using an innovative, patented multistep* conversion technique,these 10-bit CMOS analog-to-digital converters offersub-microsecond conversion times yet dissipate a maximumof only 235 mW. These converters perform 10-bit conversionin two lower-resolution “flashes”, yielding a fast A/D withoutthe cost, power consumption, and other problems associatedwith true flash approaches. Dynamic performance(THD, S/N) is guaranteed.
