What is on the CD-ROM

The  CD  that  comes  with  this  book  should  be  readable  on  aMac,  Solaris,  Windows  95,  and  Windows  NT  4.0.  Just  putthe  CD  in  the  drive,  and  mount  it  using  whatever  method  younormally  use  on  your  platform,  probably  filemanager  inSolaris,  and  just  stick  it  in  the  drive  if  you’re  using  a  Mac  andWindows.  There’s  no  fancy  installer.  You  can  browse  thedirectories  as  you  would  a  hard  drive.All  CD-ROM  files  are  read-only.  Therefore,  if  you  open  a  filefrom  the  CD-ROM  and  make  any  changes  to  it,  you’ll  need  tosave  it  to  your  hard  drive.  Also,  If  you  copy  a  file  from  theCD-ROM  to  your  hard  drive,  the  file  retains  its  read-onlyattribute.  To  change  this  attribute  after  copying  a  file,  rightclickthe  file  name  or  icon  and  select  Properties  from  theshortcut  menu.  In  the  Properties  dialog  box,  click  the  Generaltab  and  remove  the  checkmark  from  the  Read-only  checkbox.There  are  seven  main  directories:1.  Browsers2.  Parsers3.  Specifications4.  Examples5.  Source  Code6.  Utilities7.  PDFs
