The  ZD832  is  a  high  voltage,  TransformerFree™  AC-DCconstant  current  driver  for  driving  a  string  of  white  or  RGBLEDs  in  series.  It  operates  from  an  universal  input  voltageof  85VAC  to  170VAC,  or  170VAC  to  240VAC  and  generatesa  programmable  constant  output  current.  The  high  operatingvoltage  of  ZD832,  along  with  its  linear  control  architectureeliminates  the  need  for  an  external  inductor,  transformer  andrectifying  diode  bridge.  The  output  current  level  is  set  by  asingle  resistor  and  can  be  set  as  high  as  30mA.  Dimmingcontrol  can  be  accomplished  by  using  pulse-width  modulationsignal  with  varying  duty  cycle  on  the  PWM  pin  or  by  applyingan  analog  DC  voltage  on  the  ISET  pin.  Thermal  and  overvoltagecircuitry  protects  the  internal  power  transistors  fromexcessive  power  dissipation.
