Video multiplexers pose a difficult design challenge. Theymust perform several functions, such as matching the inputline impedance, signal amplification, signal switching, anddriving the output line, without degrading or adding noiseand transients to the signal. Typically, the signal flowsthrough the multiplexer where it’s degraded by the multiplexerserrors. In this design, the signal flows through the opamp and thus isn’t degraded by the multiplexer.
