Introduction:  The  Pb  isotope  system  in  feldspar  isa  powerful  fingerprint,  recording  near-initial  isotoperatios  due  to  the  very  low  ratios  of  U  and  Th  to  Pb  inthis  mineral  group,  especially  in  K-feldspar.  This  samemineral  group  also  has  demonstrated  applicability  for40Ar/39Ar  geochronology.  Procedures  that  allow  multipleproxies  to  be  obtained  on  the  same  samples  have  agreat  deal  of  value,  and  the  combination  of  age  andinitial  Pb  isotope  composition  of  feldspar  has  widepotential  application  in  studies  of  volcanic  stratigraphyas  well  as  sedimentary  provenance.
