The  OPT209  is  an  opto-electronic  integrated  circuitcontaining  a  photodiode  and  transimpedanceamplifier  on  a  single  dielectrically  isolated  chip.  Thetransimpedance  amplifier  consists  of  a  precision  FETinputop  amp  and  an  on-chip  metal  film  resistor.  The0.09  x  0.09  inch  photodiode  is  operated  at  zero  bias  forexcellent  linearity  and  low  dark  current.The  integrated  combination  of  photodiode  andtransimpedance  amplifier  on  a  single  chip  eliminatesthe  problems  commonly  encountered  in  discrete  designssuch  as  leakage  current  errors,  noise  pick-up  andgain  peaking  due  to  stray  capacitance.The  OPT209  operates  over  a  wide  supply  range  (±2.25to  ±18V)  and  supply  current  is  only  400mA.  It  ispackaged  in  a  transparent  plastic  8-pin  DIP,  specifiedfor  the  0°C  to  70°C  temperature  range.
