TOPSwitch-GX Flyback Design Methodology

The  design  of  a  switching  power  supply,  by  nature,  is  aniterative  process  with  many  variables  requiring  adjustment  tooptimize  the  design.  The  design  method  described  in  thisdocument  consists  of  two  major  sections:  A  design  flow  chartand  a  step-by-step  design  procedure.  The  flow  chart  shows  thedesign  sequence  at  a  conceptual  level  for  TOPSwitch-GXflyback  power  supply  design.  The  step-by-step  procedure  givesdetails  within  each  step  of  the  design  flow  chart,  includingempirical  design  guidelines  and  look-up  tables.  All  key  equationsand  guidelines  are  provided  wherever  possible  to  assist  thereaders  in  better  understanding  and/or  further  optimization.
