                        Mixed-signal  IC  Design  (  Lab  Manual  )Mixed-signal  IC  designLaboratory  ManualGang  Xu  Department  of  Electroscience  Lund  University  Box-118  S-221  00  Sweden  gxu@es.lth.se  Feb.  2001Laboratory  1:  Mixed-signal  Simulation  MethodIn  this  laboratory  you  will  study  to  use  Cadence  Analog  Artist  to  simulate  mixed  mode  circuits.  A  comparator  and  a  DAC  with  ahdl  description,  an  encoder  with  verilog  description  will  be  designed  and  simulated.  An  5  bits  Flash  ADC  will  be  constructed  with  above  parts.  Homework  1.  Read  the  text  on  Full-flash  ADC  (pp.  121).  2.  3.  Review  the  knowledge  of  digital  simulation  in  Digital  Konstruktion.  For  a  full-flash  5-bits  ADC  with  the  input  range  (±  500  mV  ),  calculate  the  number  of  reference  voltages  needed  and  its  1/2  LSB  value.  For  5  bit  accuracy,  calculate  the  minimal  threshold  voltage  of  the  comparator.  ……
