The  LM5005  high  voltage  switching  regulator  features  all  ofthe  functions  necessary  to  implement  an  efficient  high  voltagebuck  regulator  using  a  minimum  of  external  components.  Thiseasy  to  use  regulator  includes  a  75V  N-Channel  buck  switchwith  an  output  current  capability  of  2.5  Amps.  The  regulatorcontrol  method  is  based  upon  current  mode  control  utilizingan  emulated  current  ramp.  Current  mode  control  provides  inherentline  feed-forward,  cycle-by-cycle  current  limiting  andease  of  loop  compensation.  The  use  of  an  emulated  controlramp  reduces  noise  sensitivity  of  the  pulse-width  modulationcircuit,  allowing  reliable  control  of  very  small  duty  cycles  necessaryin  high  input  voltage  applications.  The  operating  frequencyis  programmable  from  50kHz  to  500kHz.  An  oscillatorsynchronization  pin  allows  multiple  LM5005  regulators  to  selfsynchronizeor  to  be  synchronized  to  an  external  clock.  Additionalprotection  features  include:  current  limit,  thermalshutdown  and  remote  shutdown  capability.  The  device  isavailable  in  a  power  enhanced  TSSOP-20  package  featuringan  exposed  die  attach  pad  to  aid  thermal  dissipation.
