                      The  Universal  Serial  Bus  (USB)  is  an  industrial  standard  serialinterface  between  a  computer  and  peripherals  such  as  amouse,  joystick,  keyboard,  UPS,  etc.  This  application  notedescribes  how  a  cost-effective  USB  Uninterruptable  PowerSupply  Interface  (UPS)  can  be  built  using  the  Cypress  Semiconductorsingle-chip  CY7C63001  USB  controller.  The  documentstarts  with  the  basic  operations  of  an  uninterruptablepower  supply  followed  by  an  introduction  to  the  CY7C63001USB  controller.  A  schematic  of  the  CY7C63001  USB  controllerto  the  RS-232  of  the  UPS  connection  can  be  found  in  theHardware  Implementation  Section.
